About this role
Project Managers are used to overseeing all requirements for a project from end-to-end. For this role, you’ll need technical expertise as well as managerial experience. You’ll have an engineering degree (and at least 8 years of experience).
You'll need managerial experience to assess the skills and weaknesses in your team, both in the office and in the field. You’ll need to match your people to the activities where they will succeed. You’ll support them as they improve their skills and add to their knowledge. That means providing feedback, mentoring and training.
You’ll manage more than performance of course. You’ll be tracking financials, and execution schedules too. You’ll need to oversee all resource regular work plans (do you have enough resource where and when you need it for the project schedule?), and stay within budget, time and expense allowances. You’ll be projecting revenues and well as labor requirements.
You’ll be applying your excellent communication and relationship skills to client management. You’ll have a strong influence in the project design phase so that you can develop your relationships with key project members. You’ll regularly review the project schedules, overseeing project design and construction.
As the project moves onto commissioning, you’ll conduct site visits and assist with site surveys. You’ll submit design review reports, you’ll review project drawings and use of testing equipment. You’ll perform energy calculations and analysis.
In addition to managing projects already in progress, there's business development. With existing clients you'll look to develop future business through work extensions and positive testimonials. You’ll review and support the development of proposals for new clients and / or new projects. Forecasting financials and analysis of labor requirements will be needed here. You'll take part in client and educational presentations as a capable presenter.
There’s a wide mix of action, influence and impact in this role. You’ll bring ideas, creative thinking, and an eye for detail as well as the big picture. If you are looking for purposeful, sustainable work that impacts communities and the future, get in touch.
