On behalf of our client, a Global Leading Services Provider to the Oil & Gas industry, Brunel has a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Service Project Cost Controller - 12 month contract located south of the river!

This position will be responsible to document the execution and delivery of orders that have been formally accepted / Cost Control throughout project execution and assist the Project Managers to drive opportunities for margin expansion. Responsible for Revenue, Cost, Margin and Cashflow management, as well as implementing internal controls to ensure compliance.

  • Liaison with the Commercial Team to Contract Handover and create Contract / Project in ERP
  • Sound understanding of the contractual/customer specific requirements, as-bid costs and commitments prior to start of execution
  • Periodic contract scope review and identify Variation Order opportunities
  • Frequent validation of Contract’s expiry date / contract value overrun
  • Bi-weekly analysis of latest cost Vs as bid budget and review with Project Manager
  • Create Purchase Requisitions and follow up with Sourcing for timely delivery
  • PO receipts and inventory allocation to concerned projects
  • Make sure all concerned vendor costs are posted into Projects before doing Job Closing
  • Conduct final project review with Project Manager to sign-off the costs
  • Prepare and submit pre-approvals for monthly billing
  • Troubleshoot with customers to resolve issues as necessary to achieve financial targets.
  • Timely submission of Tax Invoice and correct back up documents for cash collection
  • Application of various revenue recognition rules PTLAG / Overtime / Bill and Hold
  • Project closing process after checking open POs / hard-pegged spares / open WOs and MRP balances
  • Provide forecasts (monthly, quarterly and annually) / review and revise
  • Communicate with Operation Delivery Manager, Integrated Service Leads and Shop Team as necessary to ensure on time delivery
  • Maintain the Customer Owned Equipment recording / storage / maintenance and various reports
  • Ensure company financial processes and internal controls are always followed to ensure compliance
  • Support Statutory and Internal Audit

Requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or similar qualification in Commerce / Finance / Accounting
  • 3+ years experience within Project Administration / Cost Controlling or relevant knowledge - preferably within the Oil & Gas industry
  • Working knowledge of Services Operations, Repair Shops, Inventory & Warehouse Operations
  • Customer equipment management, Vendor and Supply Chain Management
  • Knowledge and experience in ERP system (preferably Oracle)
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to priortise and work efficiently in a busy environment
