We’re hiring for Principle Process Engineer for our client, a leading oil and gas EPC company, to join their growing team. This is permanent opportunity for Bangalore location. This would be work from office and Topside and Upstream exp. is mandatory.

As the Principal Process Engineer, you ensure successful resolution of complex technical issues on Process Systems to meet project and discipline deliverables;

You engage with peers across Regional Centers to promote knowledge-sharing, act as a consultant, and mentor to less experienced engineers to ensure knowledge transfer, product memory, and application of best practices;

The Principal Process Engineer works in conjunction with Discipline Manager, Discipline Leads and engineering staff to seek continuous improvement in both quality and efficiency of work;

Identify gaps between the design solution and known product specifications; recommend best alternative solution(s);

Utilize offshore upstream industry knowledge gained over experience and collaborate with various disciplines to minimize the negative impact on the completion of key project milestones;

As a lead on the project should take ownership to define and develop discipline scope by understanding and evaluating the project requirements;

  • Identify dependencies and obtain alignment with project stakeholders to ensure safety and quality are not sacrificed in the effort to meet the project schedule;
  • Accurately forecast man-hours, resource needs, and completion date for deliverables;
  • Set team expectations for quality standards and enforce safety requirements to meet project needs, corporate standards, and industry regulations;

Participate/lead design reviews as applicable, HAZOPs, vendor bid evaluations, and project readiness reviews;

Develop planning documentation for internal company reviews for CAPEX estimates;

Operations Support:

  • Provide Technical expertise, as part of to the Fleet Support design team, supporting operating facilities to troubleshoot equipment/processes and debottlenecking for increased production and perform Brownfield modifications;
  • Troubleshooting includes: Heat exchangers, Compressor, Oil and Gas separators, Acid gas treatment units, Produced water treatment units, Process control systems, Marine systems etc.;
  • Analysis of plant operating data (PI) to support production optimization.



Minimum of 15 years of process engineering experience in the oil and gas industry. Candidate should have demonstrated experience in full project lifecycle of some of the following Upstream process areas viz :
o Conventional Onshore and Offshore Oil and Gas;o Sour Oil and Gas Treatment;
o Gas Dehydration and Gas Compression;o Produced Water Treatment;
o Associated Utilities and Safety Systems;
Thorough knowledge/expert judgment in the selection and application of process and utilities systems in the Upstream process areas listed above;Broad understanding of safety aspects in design (API 14C/J recommended practices, relief and blowdown, passive and active fire protection, etc.);
Conversant with relevant international standards applicable to hydrocarbon processing industry, such as API, ISO, ASME, IEC;
Good interface knowledge with related engineering disciplines, i.e. Piping, Instrumentation & Process Control, Technical Safety / Safety & Loss Prevention;
Development / Review of: PI&D, Datasheets, Instrument datasheets, Cause and effect diagrams, HP/LP interface, (process safeguarding documentation);As an (Area) Lead capable of supervising big teams of up to 15 process engineers;
Collaborate with Discipline Manager to propose/optimize methodology regarding how to execute the tasks within the framework of project requirements;
Partner with the Discipline Manager and replace the Discipline Manager when required (deputy role);
Demonstrated experience in workflow creation and execution;
Working capabilities in some of the following programs and data flows between them:AspenTech Engineering Suite including HYSYS, -Flare Suite;
UNISIM-Design / Flare suits/;
AVEVA Engineering Suite (added advantage);Other similar types of commercially available engineering;
Familiar with participating in design review methods, such as HAZID, HAZOP, SIL Assessment LOPA.
