About this role


  • Receives Build peer-to-peer relationships with recognized opinion leaders/medical experts to identify and address scientific needs and stay abreast of current scientific trends.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with current and future KOL and healthcare stakeholders to ensure access to current medical and scientific information on products and disease states of strategic importance
  • Work closely with KOL and Medical Experts in the development and shaping of treatment guidelines to support or enhance favorable market access strategies
  • Provide scientific and clinical support to Gastroenterology opinion leaders/medical experts and community physicians on the clinical application of current and future products, responds to their requests for scientific information, as needed discussed disease state concepts and in-depth medical topics aligned with medical and commercial strategy
  • Identify clinical investigators with potential research proposals that would be consistent with the company’s product development strategies and liaise with Head office to review proposals according to company guidelines & procedures
  • Identify and address scientific needs and stay abreast of current scientific trends
  • Collect and communicate clinical insights and intelligence on the market environment, clinical strategies, competition, and other field insights
  • Actively contribute to the development of the gastroenterology medical strategy for both current and pipeline products
  • Develop medical material/slides for advisory board, speaker training and consultancy meetings, as required
  • Contribute to product launches via stakeholders’ identification and collection of clinical insights and intelligence on the market environment, clinical strategies, competition, and other field insights
  • Represent and support at scientific congresses and symposia. Interpret and report on findings with recommendations for action to relevant internal stakeholders
  • Evaluate the impact of competitive information on the product’s strategy
  • Support the business development team through comprehensive scientific and clinical evaluation of new product business opportunities
  • Support the internal Scientific Communication team with the review of Medical Information standard response documents, as requested
  • Support internal teams such as Sales and Marketing to develop their scientific knowledge through the delivery of scientific update presentations
  • Work closely with the sales managers to ensure optimal alignment of field resources in delivering therapeutic area goals and objectives in a compliant manner
  • Ensure optimal execution of the Medical Affairs therapeutic area field tactical and operational plans, in compliance with regulatory rules and regulations, including adverse event reporting, and internal guidelines

About you


  • Excellent written and verbal communication in both English and French
  • Ability to build credibility and strong rapport with physicians who are Key Opinion Leaders or clinical investigators
  • Strong clinical acumen, with an interest in and ability to understand and to communicate scientific data
  • Ability to synthesize and analyze scientific information
  • Strong interpersonal skills to enable cross-functional collaboration and customer relationship development
  • Strong business acumen including strategic skills and experience developing account-level and product-level business/strategic plans
  • High sense of urgency and commitment to execution
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and work effectively in a constantly changing environment
  • Must be willing to travel (70% field based territory of Quebec/Atlantic/Ottawa and 30% Head Office based in Montreal)
