About this role

  • Ability to interpret environmental laws and permit requirements, stay abreast of the changing regulatory landscape and analyze the various options for complying with new regulations and permit requirements;
  • Conducting EHS compliance audits;
  • Monitor and report results of the compliance efforts of the company;
  • Provide guidance for the senior management team on matters relating to environment, health & safety and compliance;
  • Implement all necessary actions to meet the objectives of an effective environment, health & safety and compliance program;
  • Meet all regulatory and legislative requirements and identify areas of excellence;
  • Compliant with the following standards: ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001 and ISO27001;
  • Interface with Environmental Regulatory Agencies, Corporate environmental health and safety leadership & lead inspections and audits;
  • Liaise with other managers and staff throughout the organisation to ensure that the quality management system is functioning properly. Ensure regular reviews and quality monitoring are completed. Perform internal audits to support the identification, actioning and close out of non-compliant issues and support continuous improvement of the QMS;
  • Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; develop/track/implement corrective action plans as needed. Collaborate with other managers and staff to direct compliance issues to appropriate existing channels for investigation and resolution;
  • Ensure accident and incident reports are investigated and corrective actions taken;
  • Ensure that adequate Health & Safety training is provided to all employees;
  • Encourage a positive quality and health & safety culture across all departments;
  • Development of EHS compliance programs, plans and training programs;
  • Lead site in the design and or improvement of processes that minimize environmental hazards;
  • Development and assessments of EHS management systems which align with ISO standards;
  • Ability to understand and interpret EHS regulations and guidance documents to support development of client EHS programs;
  • Evaluate risks & incidents and identify areas where costs and loss can be improved;
  • Project execution including preparation of proposals and project reports, project management, and delivering high quality work to meet budget and client schedule expectations;
  • Provide guidance and expertise to all levels of the business on EHS and compliance issues;
  • Promote a culture of customer data security awareness throughout the business;
  • Perform external audits on the Company’s key service providers to ensure all service providers are complying with EHS and compliance regulations;
    • Responsible for documenting and the continual maintenance of the Business Continuity Plan (BCP) which covers all key activities of the business;
    • Responsible for the regular testing of the BCP in line with the Disaster Recovery (DR) Plan;
    • Take ownership for all Environmental Health and Safety initiatives and manage all EHS actions in conjunction with divisional owners;
    • Fully implement Fire Safety procedures, including evacuation procedures, fire warden selection and training and fire systems evaluation;
    • Develop and maintain robust processes, training and selection of appropriately qualified personnel for Occupational First Aid, Emergency First Aid and Automatic External Defibrillators;
    • Review and update all EH&S documents and policies and develop and implement a programme of actions to ensure full compliance.

    Requirements

    • BSc or MSc in Environmental Science, or related field;• Minimum of 2 years within a quality or health & safety role (desirable in a customer service business environment);
    • Certifications in Quality Management Systems an advantage;• Understanding of quality and compliance monitoring in a customer service focused business environment;
    • Practical knowledge of developing a quality improvement culture throughout the organisation;• Proficient in conducting independent audits;
    • Computer skills and experience with industry standard commercial computer software including Microsoft Office;• Excellent communication, writing, and organizational skills combined with leadership ability, a positive attitude, and ability to work both independently and within groups;
    • EHS auditing, program development and preparation of environmental regulatory reports;• Developing EHS management systems and familiarity with standards such as ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001 and ISO27001;
    • Performing industrial hygiene sampling; • Conducting quality projects including permit applications and compliance plans.
